Biography

L'art, c'est la contemplation. C'est le plaisir qui pénètre la nature et qui y devine l'esprit dont elle est elle-même animée.

Auguste RODIN

However as far as I remamber myself, I've always liked drawings. As a child, I drew horses.

As a teenager, I loved painters like Ingres, Géricault. I often went to the museum of the Louvre in Paris, to admire the pictures of the XVIIIth and XIXth century.

I began to paint in 1994. Completely self-educated, I discovered the use of the colour, the pigments, oil then acrylic.  I liked creating an atmosphere, shadows and ligh.

Behind every painting realized, there is a story, one or several people I met. There is also a photographic work. How to get the righ glance, attitude, posture.... very often, with patience. (My photographies are distributed by the photographic Agency NATURIMAGES).

The animal is like a human being and it is necessary to know how to compose with its humour and its character.

►  In 2010,  I became member of the Artists For Conservation Foundation

"The Artists for Conservation Foundation (AFC) - formerly the Worldwide Nature Artists Group (WNAG) - is a non-profit, international organization dedicated to the celebration and preservation of the natural world. The Foundation represents the world's leading collective of nature artists and an unparalleled pool of artistic talent focussed on nature. The organization's mission is to support wildlife and habitat conservation, biodiversity, sustainability and environmental education through art that celebrates our natural heritage."

►  In 2009, My drawing "Bear of Pyrénées" has been selected for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation exhibition "Art for Survival"  at the Mall Gallery - London.

My painting "Wild Cat" won a "Commended" Award at the international Contest "BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year".

►  In 2008,  One of my painting was finalist for the "Wildlife artist of the year"contest organized by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation in London. My painting "Don't let me die" has been selected for the "ART and THE ANIMAL" National Tour 2008/2009

►  In 2007, my garden became "refuge LPO" (French League for the Birds protection). There, I could count more than 60 species of birds which live in my garden, or come to spend a few months of return of migration, or which, simply come to seek food regularly.

Since september, my work is assessed in Drouot (Paris).

►  In 2006, I became member of the Society of Animal Artist of New York - USA and member of the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society in England.

►  In 2003, I wrote a novel : "Tchuck or not very ordinary autobiography of an extraordinary dog". The manucript obtained a great International price of Literature. This book tells about the life of my dog - a very unusual dog. As my veterinary calls him : "he's the hidden child of Scoubidou and Rantaplan" (click on "Book" and "Press")
